Biodegradable, Granular & Natural Mole & Gopher Repellent

Do you have tunnels in your lawn? Piles of dirt visible after the snow melts? That sounds like mole damage. While moles don't do any real harm, they can make a lawn unsightly and create spots for weeds to germinate. If moles or gophers bother you, the best solution we've found for deterring these animals from digging in your lawn or garden is Chase Granular Mole & Gopher Repellent. This product will not kill the targeted animals, however the active ingredient of Castor Oil will cause topical itching and digestive distress, resulting in their exit from the treated areas.

Directions

General Application:

  • You can choose to apply the product evenly by hand, or with a broadcast, or drop spreader.
  • Use from Spring through late Fall when the tunnels, or cone-shaped mounds from these animals, are present.
  • While you can apply the product to your entire yard in one treatment, another effective strategy is to move the moles in the direction you'd like them to exit your property. To accomplish this, apply Chase Mole & Gopher Repellent to 1/3 of the area to be treated, beginning with the area farthest from your desired exit point. For instance, if you want the animals to move from your flower garden toward a fence, begin at the garden. Then at 1-2-day intervals, apply the product to the other areas closer to the fence, ending with the one closest to it. This approach is particularly effective when the area to be treated is larger than 100 feet x 100 feet.
  • The number of applications needed varies depending on how severe your mole problem is and how much they like your lawn.
  • We recommend doing a few heavier applications towards the end of the season (late Fall) to prevent moles from causing damage over the Winter, but treatments can be done anytime of the year.
  • The bag says it will treat up to 6,000 square feet, but in our experience this product works better with a heavier dose. We typically use one bag to cover 3,000 square feet. (Visit FindLotSize.com to measure the square footage of your yard).
  • Once you apply the repellent, it is common to see increased tunnel activity for a period of time while the animals relocate. In some cases, it takes more applications and heavier doses to see results.
